Thoughts from a budding indie writer...

It's been a crazy five months. I'm still not entirely sure how I've had such unexpected and welcome success, but I will attempt to limit the "aw shucks" attitude. Last week I signed with Podium Publishing to make The Last Tribe into an audio book. The same fantastic firm that made The Martian and a few hundred other great indie writers' visions into world class audio, has acquired the rights to my book. On the same day I signed with Podium, Amazon notified me that I was a Kindle Unlimited All-Star, one of the top 100 books downloaded in July.
I thank all of the people who purchased and downloaded my book.
What else is happening? I have a few books, yes a few, in re-write mode. I find it difficult to focus on one project when I have four books going, but I assume having four is much better than struggling to write one. I am anxious to capitalize on my early success by putting out more books, but as my agent/wife has reminded me, I need to focus on quality more than quantity.
I will attempt to keep this blog going with some regularity. I began creating this page in May, and had aspirations of publishing one post per week. I laughed when I read that promise on the original blog. My life is too rich with family, writing, reading, okay, watching television too, and I cannot promise regularity, I will try.
Thank you again to all of my readers. You are fantastic, and a I greatly appreciate it.
